THE COALITION CONNECTION
August 14, 2015
Dear NCGS Community,

I am excited to make two big announcements today: the keynote speakers for the Global Forum on Girls' Education, Creating a World of Possibilities (February 7-9, 2016 in New York, NY) and, due to high demand and growing interest around the world, we are opening registration early.

Headlining the Global Forum are the founder of The Huffington Post Media Group, Arianna Huffington, and author, lecturer, political activist, and feminist organizer, Gloria Steinem.

An international bestselling author of 14 books, Huffington launched The Huffington Post in 2005, a news and blog site that quickly became one of the most widely-read, linked to, and frequently-cited media brands on the Internet. Originally from Greece, Huffington moved to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University, where at the age of 21 she became president of the famed debating society, the Cambridge Union. Huffington has been named to TIME magazine's list of the world's 100 Most Influential People and Forbes' Most Powerful Women list.

Steinem, an acclaimed trailblazer for women's rights since the late 1960s, travels the globe as an organizer and lecturer, and is a frequent media spokeswoman on issues of equality. She is particularly interested in gender roles, the cultures of indigenous peoples, and organizing across boundaries for peace and justice. Her lifetime of work has been recognized by numerous publications and organizations, including induction into the National Women's Hall of Fame. In 2013, President Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor.

Just a few of the additional featured speakers joining us from around the world include Baroness Sue Campbell of the Youth Sport Trust (U.K.), CEO of Emergent Solutions Holly Ransom (Australia), and Dean at the International University of Catalonia Dr. Enric Vidal (Spain).
