THE COALITION CONNECTION
September 25, 2013
Dear NCGS Community,

I am pleased to be able to share with you our new NCGS online calendar!

This helpful new resource was suggested during my Executive Director Forum held at the opening of the NCGS 2013 Annual Conference earlier this summer. NCGS welcomes suggestions and feedback on the benefits we provide to our members. As the leading advocate for girls' education, we are always looking for ways to grow our support of your efforts.

The online calendar allows you to easily see a quick snap shot for the current academic year of all NCGS and NCGS-supported events -- professional development opportunities including regional symposiums, national conferences, and certificate programs; advocacy efforts such as our new Girls' School Advantage Outreach Program; and networking activities like the NCGS Alumnae Network receptions. We hope this will help each of you in planning your school and department calendars.

NCGS has a busy, exciting year planned with events reaching far and wide from Hawaii to the Mid-Atlantic and from Canadian Provinces to the South. We look forward to seeing you at many of the upcoming events throughout 2013-2014!

Best wishes,

Megan

Gender Summit 3: North America 2013

The Gender Summit 3 - North America will take place in Washington, D.C. on November 13-15, 2013, with the National Science Foundation as the lead partner.

Established in 2011, the Gender Summit has become the foremost forum for engaging top-level researchers, policy makers, science and innovation leaders, and other actors and stakeholders in STEM, to address gender issues in research and innovation where they impact on efficacy, quality, and success of these sectors. The theme for this year's summit is "Diversity Fueling Excellence in Research and Innovation." It is a call for action, based on persuasive evidence that it matters for science excellence, and for society, to have both women and men as researchers, as subjects of research, and as leaders.
