Garbage In Garbage Out, by Bonnie Nelson, MA, LLP, LPC

Have you ever heard a song on the radio that continued to resonate with you long after the song had ended? Most all of us can relate to this.
Last Friday morning, as I was driving to our early staff meeting, a song came on one of my favorite radio stations. The song is titled Garbage In-Garbage Out. The title resonated with me because this term is most commonly used to describe how computers cannot output valuable information if they are given wrong data.
The fact is that I have been living and dreaming about a new computer program for the past three weeks. Perspectives has "gone live" with electronic medical records to improve our overall efficiency as an organization and to better serve our clients.
I will admit that I have been one who has begrudgingly accepted this major alteration in my professional life. It was the case, at least, until I began to view this change from a more pragmatic point of view. It was then that I was able to ask myself, if I want positive results in my life rather than negative results, I have to change my thoughts. After all, as a man thinketh, so is he.
The outcomes we experience in our lives are most often directly related to the attitudes and visions we focus on. So let's change our focus from Garbage In - Garbage Out to positive in - positive out.
If you or anyone you know could use help changing their focus
