My Mom's 85th birthday is coming up and mine is in September, so we decided to celebrate and go to a Spa. I've been to Canyon Ranch many times, and always enjoyed it, but this time I wanted to try something new. Many friends had recommended The Lodge at Woodloch, in Hawley,PA. so off we went!

Exhale - The Lodge at Woodloch

The ride up definitely got us in the mood. View of the Delaware River on Rt. 97.

The Lodge At Woodloch is smaller than Canyon Ranch and focus is more on spiritual classes rather than more active cardio.

Some of the fun classes - yes, definitely different -
  • Power Napping, where you are guided through a series of gentle stretches to promote total relaxation and rest. You leave feeling rejuvenated and revitalized.
  • Inner Smile Meditation, an ancient guided meditation said to produce a refined quality of internal energy with the power to relax, heal and rejuvenate.
  • Breathe & Change Your Life, also a guided meditation to enhance your body's energy levels while cleansing and rebalancing.
They also had Drums Alive, Yoga, Pilates, Spinning and Cardio classes, but I was looking for a different experience than what I have at my gym.

Oh yes - lots of Spa treatments - Hot stone massages- my favorite! body polishes, Swedish massages, and facials.

After a spa treatment you were escorted into the Whisper Lounge for quite contemplation and relaxation.

Look who's getting a pedicure!

Each room has its own deck, some with views of this rock garden with a waterfall and others faced the lake. My Mom and I started our day here with a cup of coffee.

I didn't get a chance to go kayaking or paddleboarding- next time.

If you're into meditation you will find this sculpture of three different size Chakra Bowls amazing! The sculpture was in the lobby greeting you as you walked in. These were designed by Jonathan & Evelyn Clowes of Clowes Sculpture in Walpole, NH.

These classic frosted singing bowls are beautiful and luminescent. Their soft sounds are said to restore balance and serenity, facilitating an inner journey.

Another great sculpture made by the Clowes, is this glass flower and wood sculpture that spans two floor.

The affinity pool hot tub was perfect for massaging my tight shoulders. The view of the Pocono Mts. just melted any stress I might have had.

After dinner the perfect place to meet new friends - a firepit complete with make it yourself S'mores- yummy!
