This year the 42nd annual Kips Bay Show House was held in the Villard House attached to the New York Palace Hotel.  Twenty-two distinguished interior designers transformed the mansion into spectacular show pieces of their design talent. Let me share with you some of my favorites.

A Sneak Look Into The Kips Bay Show House

This year there was a mix of modern traditional reinterpreted with a contemporary vibe.  Teal was the big color story, featured on upholstered walls, & accents with pillows, shagreen boxes and parson tables.

Cullman & Kravis designed one of my favorite rooms and I had the pleasure of speaking with Ellie Cullman.

Cullman & Kravis designed a bedroom called "Some Like It Hot"- young, sexy and warm.

Glass and crystal bedside tables from Christie's.

Mixed with a 1938 French commode with ivory inlay.

Ingrao featured a fun three sided Francesco Binfare' sofa.

Juan Montoya's room was edgy with lots of sculptured pieces.

Black sculpture by Eva Hill

Markham Robert's room featured a fabulous teal upholstered wall with Moroccan mirrors and a mix of old master's works on paper intermixed with contemporary photographs and paintings.

Christopher Peacock spread his wings ( I couldn't resist!) and featured a pink "Sex and the City" dressing room.  Here I am as Carrie Bradshaw, ogling the Emilio Pucci heels Christopher displayed.

Kirsten Kelli's room featured this fabulous pair of iridescent green spiked Murano glass vases by Barovier.

William Georgis, the architect that renovated the Lever House, displayed this pair of 19c. Italian slipper chairs covered in Japanese Obi fabric.

A great accessory in Young Huh's room were these toleware Double Hollyhock flowers from Tommy Mitchell Co.  Handcrafted of cut metal, painted and gilded.
