St. Mark's Day - This Sunday!

Christians all around the world this Sunday will be celebrating St. Mark's Feast Day - so I thought we should too! Come this Sunday, wear red, and hear about our patron saint!

The Sunday Forum

This Sunday the Forum returns, and we're going to be discussing the Book of Revelation. I know, I know...some of you have a hard time with it. Some of you don't like it... But that's ok. There are some gems in there, and it's been an important part of our Christian heritage.

Think of this: No Revelation...no Hallelujah Chorus!

9:15AM in the Heritage Room.

Pie Making 101 with Boyd McKoane

I have been baking pies for roughly 30 years. It all started with my Grandmother, Elsie Johnston, née Bergstrom, who made me Apple and Cherry pies throughout my early childhood from her home in Geneva, Illinois. In New Jersey, where I moved in 1973, I lost touch with pie making until I became acquainted with my now best friend, Louis Rigassio, who is currently the executive chef at the Essex County

Country Club. Back in the early '80's Louis introduced me to The Pie &

Pastry Bible by Rose Levy Barenbaum.

So, that's my background. To those who are interested, I will be in the Church kitchen for two sessions, one for crust & one for guts, prior to our 20th year anniversary of Curbing Hunger. So if you want to learn how bake a great pie, email me at jbmckoane@gmail.com and I'll give you the details so that you can come along.

Thank you from the Rummage Sale Committee

We would like to thank the many St. Mark's parishioners who graciously volunteered their time to make the Spring 2014 Rummage Sale such a huge success. We netted $10,200. A job well done! It was so heartwarming and gratifying to see the St. Mark's community come together for such an important and worthy cause. Whether you helped with setting up, donating, sorting, selling, baking or cleaning up, your efforts were greatly appreciated and you contributed very much to the success of the event. We are happy that we had another successful Rummage Sale, but most importantly we are gratified by the incredible fellowship shared with each other. We hope you all enjoyed participating in the Rummage Sale. Everyone should be very proud of the St. Mark's community for holding such a significant fund raiser. Congratulations to everyone for a job well done. See you September 19th and 20th, 2014
