Summer Pops Concert Schedule

The RHODE ISLAND PHILHARMONIC POPS ORCHESTRA has confirmed four Summer Pops concerts throughout Rhode Island this summer, beginning with a 4th of July concert at India Point Park, Providence. Resident Conductor FRANCISCO NOYA will conduct, and all concerts are free of charge and open to the public. - Thursday, July 4 | India Point Park, Providence, 7:30 pm (Independence Day Celebration | Fireworks after the concert!)
- Friday, July 12 | Narragansett Town Beach, Narragansett, 8pm - Sunday, September 1 | Independence Park, Bristol, 7pm
- Sunday, September 22 | Slater Park, Pawtucket, 5:30pm
All rain dates are the following evening at the same time.
The Summer Pops 2013 program includes: Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, the Jurassic Park Suite by John Williams, Wagner's Die Meistersinger, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera, Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa and much more!

Summer at the Philharmonic Music School
|
During the summer, the Philharmonic Music School offers lessons on over 20 different instruments and voice as well as a variety of classes, workshops (see dates below) and ensembles. We will also be providing music classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. New this summer, we're excited to offer courses in Ableton Live, one of the recording world's most popular programs for music production, recording and live performance.

Felipe Ferreras | Senior Piano Recital
|
On Saturday, June 15, Felipe Ferreras will give his Senior Recital at 5pm in Sage Hall at the Carter Center. Felipe is the winner of this year's Philharmonic Music School Concert/Aria Competition and recently performed a movement from Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor with the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra at the Vets. The Recital is free and open to the public.
About Felipe:
Felipe Ferreras, a senior at the Wheeler School in Providence, has been a piano student of the Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School for over 11 years. He currently studies with Nonetta Shatakhtsian at the Philharmonic Music School. Felipe has participated in the Chamber Music program at the Music School for the past four years, was a recipient of the Alan Fox Scholarship Award in 2010 and the Joseph Silveira Scholarship this past year, both awarded by the Music School.
