"To find suitable persons for the Episcopal ministry and
aid them in acquiring a thorough education"

SIM's founding purpose on October 2, 1857;

 our ministry ever since.

"Prepare Ye"

Seal

Advent, the season of  preparation and expectation.

On a SIM level, this season brings to mind:

  • SIM's ministry of supporting the preparation of seminarians to bear the light of Christ to the communities they will serve as Episcopal priests.
  • SIM's ministry of raising Episcopalians' awareness of the need to invest in future generations of ordained leaders to shepherd missions and ministries and bring "the light that shines in the darkness" (John 1:5).
  • SIM's ministry to keep the Church alert to its responsibility within the expectation that The Episcopal Church will be a faithful presence for God's people.
  •

You and I are called to know Christ and make Christ known to as many people as possible. We are called to equip the Saints. We are called to participate in transforming the world to follow the teachings of the Gospel.

As the only organization raising funds on a national basis for support available to all Episcopal seminarians, SIM's ministry is significant to the future of The Episcopal Church.

In this Advent season you can help The Episcopal Church:
    • prepare for its future
    • raise awareness of the need to invest in leaders
    • realistically expect faithful outcomes

by partnering with SIM's ministry through your Advent donation.

Thank you for the faithfulness of your own ministry,

    Tom Moore

    Executive Director

Thank you for being a part of the SIM family: whether a SIMinarian, a member of our SIM
alumni, a faithful contributor to SIM and/or an Episcopalian mindful that in our seminarians lies the future of The Episcopal Church. Your support in whatever form - donations, awareness-raising, prayers for our seminarians, SIM presentations at your parish - is more than a contribution - it is an investment!
