In collaboration with the University of Hawaii's School of Education faculty, Dr. Jim Skouge, and ATRC Board Director, Dr. Mathew Schmidt, for this session of Camp Cool. The location and staff support from the School of Education was appreciated. Students at UHM College of Education provided extra special Aloha as counselors at the Camp. Our interactive computer exploration program brought together 20 children, with and without disabilities, an amazing group of volunteers and our staff to learn, play and have fun together. The ocean theme included four groupings - crab, whale, jellyfish and octopus, working together.

Throughout the two days, 20 campers were very busy. They were enthusiastic and excited about participating in different group activities and projects that entailed teamwork, collaboration, and of course technology, i.e. cartoon making, digital cameras, animation and music making software on computers and iPads. They also had an opportunity to interact with, learn from, and help others with differing abilities and styles.

Big smiles on the faces of the campers at the end of the days convinced the staff and volunteers that it was well worth the effort. Thanks to all our great volunteers, many of them received hands-on experience with children of various learning abilities: Lawrence Asato, Dave Balatico, Travis Barfield, Cherry Campollo, Mikaela Costales, Andrew Driffill, Kanoe Hezekia, Elizabeth Kimura, Michael Leong, Rayna Munos, Billie Jo Naleieha, Rina Okada, Kelsi Partington, Thuyen Pham, Amy Ruth, Stephanie Shiraki, Maya Shishido, Mari Taoka, and Kristen Teramae.
