April 2014

Upstream Gallery returns to its Hastings roots and celebrates Friday Night Live 2014

This year marks Upstream Gallery's 23rd season as a successful independent cooperative gallery. Upstream began in Hastings in 1991 and came home this February after many wonderful years in Dobbs Ferry. We open our first Hastings-based RiverArts Studio Tour weekend with a group show featuring the entire roster of Upstream artists. On Friday April 25th we will host a special evening reception at the gallery for the group show, remaining open until 10 pm so all can visit.

On the same evening, Upstream is also participating in a welcoming event at the first Hastings Friday Night Live for 2014. The gallery will help sponsor an outdoor painting event where kids and their parents can participate in painting self-portraits. In turn, older siblings or high school students will photograph the painters and their portraits to create a "Picture Yourself in Hastings" outdoor installation in green spaces throughout the village.

Please join us in Celebrating the Arts in Hastings at our Opening Reception Friday, April 25th 6-10 pm. The gallery will be open Saturday and Sunday April 26-27th from 10 am to 5:30 pm for Studio Tour visitors.
