On this day in 1854 James Augustine Healy was ordained the first priest of any African descent in Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral. In 1875 he became the first of any African descent  to be ordained bishop in the Roman Catholic Church.

Sunset Chamberfest

On Saturday, June 12 at 5pm, the Sunset ChamberFest returns to St. Thomas for its 3rd Season, featuring monumental works by Mozart and Britten, with a West Coast premiere by Éric Tanguy. Admission is free for this evening of exquisite music, so please be sure to attend with friends and family.

LA Pride

On Sunday, 12 June at 9am, Bishop Jon Bruno will Celebrate at the annual Mass in Celebration of LAPride at the Bank of America parking lot on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd & Crescent Heights Blvd. Proceeds from the offering will go towards the funding of the work of GLEAM LA in and around the diocese.

On the same day by 10:30am all who wish to participate should be in place on space #101 at Fairfax & Santa Monica or Fountain & Crescent Heights for the Episcopal Diocese of LA's Contingent in the Annual LA Pride Parade led by Bishop Jon & Mary Bruno and accompanied by the Pasadena Scottish Pipes & Drums. All participants are asked to wear the most recent "Welcome As You Are" Diocesan t-shirt, which will be available for sale. If someone going would like to carry the Parish Banner, please let Canon Davies know.
Canon Davies Away

Canon Davies will be in Chicago 13-17 June attending and preaching at the installation of Mo. Shireen Baker as Rector of Church of our Saviour.

Fr. Stuart will be saying all the Masses at St. Thomas during the week.
Episcopal Night at Dodger Stadium

On Friday, 2 September at 7pm, all Episcopalians are invited to gather at Dodger Stadium for "Episcopal Night" featuring the Dodgers versus the San Diego Padres. this will be a battle of divisional rivals with fireworks, figuratively and literally (after the game). Tickets are $20 each. 

If you would like to go, please email the Parish Office no later than Sunday, 24 July! Checks should be made payable to St. Thomas with "Dodgers" in the memo section.
