St. Thomas the Apostle is an Episcopal Parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. We are called by God to be a holy place where love is found, where all are named and where hearts are freed to change the world.
St. Thomas has a great respect for both the rich liturgical heritage of the church and for living the message of social justice proclaimed by Jesus Christ. Whether you are young or old, gay or straight, single, married or in a relationship, female or male, poor or wealthy, you are welcome at St. Thomas just as you are...a child of God and an inheritor of God's grace. |

The Guibord Center Presents
"Sangita Yoga: Sacred Chants of India"
St. John's Cathedral
514 West Adams Blvd.
Saturday, 25 April 2015
1pm - 3pm
Naren K. Schreiner founded Sangita Yoga in 2012, after many years spent experiencing India's sacred music and the direct effect that music has on the mind and emotions. He also studied the profound influence of sacred music on meditation. Over the years Naren began to understand the true meaning of sacred music and how it enhances one's yoga practice. Sangita Yoga is not its own path or a new teaching, nor is it a brand or style of yoga. The goal is to introduce this loving tradition to all and to support and preserve its authentic roots, various branches, and newest blossoms.
Come and experience the Sacred Chants of India in the magnificent Sacred Space of historic St. John's Cathedral, 514 West Adams Blvd, Los Angeles 90007. Questions email christine@theguibordcenter.org.
As with all events offered by The Guibord Center, there is no charge and all are invited to attend. Please register to assist with planning.

On This Day in
Christian History
On this day in 387 St. Augustine of Hippo wrote in his autobiographical Confessions, "We were baptized and all anxiety for our past life vanished away." The 33-year-old had been a teacher of rhetoric and pagan philosophies at some of the Roman Empire's finest schools, but after great influence by his mother, St. Monica, and the famous bishop St. Ambrose, he turned to Christianity. His baptism, by St. Ambrose on Easter Day, marked his entrance into the church.
