St. Thomas the Apostle is an Episcopal Parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition.  We are called by God to be a holy place where love is found, where all are named and where hearts are freed to change the world.

St. Thomas has a great respect for both the rich liturgical heritage of the church and for living the message of social justice proclaimed by Jesus Christ. Whether you are young or old, gay or straight, single, married or in a relationship, female or male, poor or wealthy, you are welcome at St. Thomas just as you are...a child of God and an inheritor of God's grace.

St. Thomas Featured in Hollywood Heritage Newsletter

Click Here to view an article about St. Thomas in the most recent Newsletter published by the Hollywood Heritage Museum. The article begins on page 6. We thank Parishioner Laura Stalker for her involvement in getting this achieved.

We thank the 39 households (an increase of 11 since last quarter!) who shopped at Ralph's between 1 March 2014 and 31 May 2014 and registered their rewards card to support St. Thomas. This quarter's contribution of $144.75 makes the total contributed by Ralph's since October 2007 to be $4,553.35! Every time these Parishioners use their Ralph's card at checkout, the company contributes a percentage to the Parish (NOTE: You must use a physical card; entering your phone number at checkout does NOT benefit the Parish). To confirm that you are one of the 39 households contributing, look at the very bottom of your next receipt. It should say that Ralph's is making a donation to St. Thomas on your behalf. If you shop at Ralph's and would like to help the church at no cost to you (and no cost to your personal Ralph's Rewards), simply register your card:

1. Go to www.ralphs.com
2. Sign in (or sign up if it's your first time)
3. Click "My Account"
4. Scroll to the section labeled "Community Rewards" and click "Edit"
5. Type "84981" (without quotes) in the search box.

Parish Choir

We thank the Parish Choir for a wonderful year of service culminating with the very successful Family Follies. The choir is now on a two-month hiatus, during which time Cantors have been engaged to lead the High Masses. We look forward to September when the choir returns to the High Mass.

Adult Education Series

Beginning Saturday, 2 August at 10:30am a new Adult Education Series, "Let's Talk About..." will take place in the Rectory. This is intended to be a space where no questions are small and where our understanding of Christ will grow in our community. The first session will be led by Canon Ian Elliott Davies. All are invited and welcome to bring any light dish to share. Contact Salvador Hernandez if you have questions.

Catechumen Class Forming

Interested in becoming a member of St. Thomas or in reinvigorating your knowledge of our faith and worship? It's time to start thinking about joining this year's Catechumen Class. This course, which meets every Saturday, beginning after Labor Day and running right up to the Great Easter Vigil, is required for anybody who wishes to be Baptized, Confirmed, or Received in the Church. It's also open to a limited number of current Parishioners who are interested in learning more and Reaffirming their commitment to Christ. Interested parties should contact the Parish Office to schedule a meeting with Canon Davies in the coming weeks.
