We thank the 28 households who shopped at Ralph's between 1 December 2013 and 28 February 2014 and registered their rewards card to support St. Thomas. This quarter's contribution of $87.45 makes the total contributed by Ralph's since October 2007 to be $4,408.60! Every time these Parishioners use their Ralph's card at checkout, the company contributes a percentage to the Parish (NOTE: You must use a physical card; entering your phone number at checkout does NOT benefit the Parish). To confirm that you are one of the 28 households contributing, look at the very bottom of your next receipt. It should say that Ralph's is making a donation to St. Thomas on your behalf. Lenten Study Course
 On Wednesdays during Lent, following the 7pm Mass, the Lenten Series course will be offered. This year's Lenten Study is following Love Songs & Reproaches: Passionate Conversations with God by William Countryman. A limited number of books will be available for sale in the office for $16 per book; one may also find this book on his own. Each week a Parishioner pre-selected by the Rector will lead in a theological, spiritual and literary discussion of several of Countryman's 100 poems. About the book: Countryman grapples with the reality of evil and loss, as well as hope for fulfillment of life. The author takes liberties with the scriptures in order to explore them with new seriousness and argues with both God and scripture freely in the process.

 If you would like to contribute toward the cost of Easter flowers and decorations, please fill out the yellow form, which will be provided in the Order of Service, and return it with your donation to the offering plate or Parish Office no later than Sunday, 13 April. The suggested donation is $25. You may also contribute via PayPal by clicking the "Donate" button below. Please provide your dedication ("In memory of..." or "In thanksgiving for...") in the special instructions section of your PayPal payment.

There are no postludes in Lent, which is symbolic of the abstinence of the Season. Following the dismissal, the Monstrance containing the Blessed Sacrament will be placed on the Altar, and the People will be invited to meditate in silence, prayer and contemplation.

A Note from Fr. Stuart
Fr. Stuart wishes to express his heartfelt appreciation for all the expressions of sympathy from St. Thomas the Apostle Parishioners following the passing of his father. The large number of people from St. Thomas who attended the memorial service was very touching. Please accept the gratitude of the Stuart family for all the support and prayers.

On This Day in
Christian History
On this day in 1687 King James II issued a Declaration of Indulgence allowing full liberty of worship in England. The government allowed Nonconformists to meet (though justices of the peace had to be notified), forgave penalties for ecclesiastical offenses and no longer required oaths of supremacy and allegiance for those in royal service. Thus the declaration severely threatened Anglican control of church and state.

Parking at St. Thomas
Regardless of what the signs read, parking on Gardner Street is now allowed on Sundays unrestricted between 7am and 1pm. There is no two-hour time limit! If you receive a ticket, please turn it in to the Parish Office.
Please make sure to remit your citation to the Parish Office promptly. The City may not dismiss citations that are more than two weeks late.
