Catechism Class Forming
Interested in becoming a member of St. Thomas, or in reinvigorating your knowledge of our faith and worship? It's time to start thinking about joining this year's Catechumen Class. This course, which meets every Saturday, beginning after Labor Day and running right up to the Great Easter Vigil, is required for anyone who wishes to be Baptized, Confirmed, or Received into the Parish Church. It's also open to current Parishioners who are interested in learning more and Reaffirming their commitment to Christ.
When meeting with Fr. Davies, interested parties are asked to fill-in THIS QUESTIONNAIRE. Clicking on the link and bringing in a pre-answered questionnaire would be helpful but not required. |

Parish Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham
The Parish Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham will next meet on Thursday, 15 August, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Holy Rosary will be said at 6:30pm followed by a Solemn Mass at 7pm. Following the Mass, the Cell will meet for a potluck dinner and meeting. Please bring your favorite dish for the potluck. Refreshments and desserts will be served. All are welcome!

12 Singers from LASchola
to Accompany 24 August
Latin Vigil Mass
At the 5pm Latin Vigil Mass on Saturday, 24 August, 12 singers from LASchola will sing Palestrina's Missa Assumpta est paired with his Assumpta es Maria. In addition, the Schola will be premiering a piece by Parishioner Mason Shefa.
This is a rare opportunity to hear this glorious music in the setting for which it was composed. All are invited! |

Parish Choir
We thank the Parish Choir for a wonderful year of service culminating with the very successful "Family Follies," the proceeds of which benefit the Choir's annual retreat in September.
The choir is now on a much-deserved, two-month hiatus.
We look forward to September when the choir returns to the High Mass. |

After offering her own definition of compassion, Sister Joan will present the scientific and religious/philosophical stances and, finally, the human response. When considering the major global crises for this century, she responds to solutions offered by a noted historian with a creative look at four qualities of compassion that could bring us to a world of peace.  Sister Joan Chittister is an internationally known writer and lecturer, one of the most articulate social analysts and influential religious leaders of this age. For over 30 years she has dedicated herself to advocating for universal recognition of the critical questions impacting the global community and has received numerous awards and recognition for her work. Courageous, passionate and charged with energy, she is a much sought after speaker, commentator and clear voice across all religions.

Parking at St. Thomas
Regardless of what the signs read, parking on Gardner Street is now allowed on Sundays unrestricted between 7am and 1pm. There is no two-hour time limit! If you receive a ticket, please turn it in to the Parish Office.
Please make sure to remit your citation to the Parish Office promptly. The City may not dismiss citations that are more than two weeks late.
