This position coordinates the Women's and Men's Health Section (WMHS) teen pregnancy prevention program (entitled the PREP Program) targeting middle and high school age youth.  In addition, this position will coordinate the Rape Prevention Education (RPE) program.  The RPE program works with local partners on primary prevention - preventing sexual assault before it occurs.   Responsibilities of this position include assessing ongoing program activities to identify education and training needs; planning and coordinating conferences and presentations to provide education, outreach, and networking opportunities; coordinating the development and dissemination of the Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit eligible contractors for program delivery; and monitoring contracted services and budgets to ensure conformance with terms and conditions of individual agreements.

  • Zika is a disease caused by Zika virus that is spread to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species of mosquito not found in Montana; up-to-date precautions for travelers to and from Zika-affected areas have been issued.
  • Only 1 in 5 of those infected will experience symptoms such as fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes), prior to recovery.
  • Information on Zika is evolving quickly; it has been linked with miscarriages and serious birth defects including microcephaly

Parents as Teachers Training                             
PAT Foundational 2 Training: 3 through K                             
 
Healthy Montana Families will host a Foundational 2 Curriculum: 3 Years Through Kindergarten Training, April 6 - 7, 2016 in Billings, MT. The Foundational 2 Curriculum is a continuation of the Parents as Teachers approach for those serving families with children ages 3 through K. This interactive, face-to-face training gives participants a better understanding of what it means to partner, facilitate and reflect with parents whose children are growing in independence and abilities as they approach school entry. It includes topics such as approaches to learning, neuroscience, child development, developmental concerns, transitions to early care and education and family engagement.
 
Attendance in the PAT 3-day Foundational Training is a prerequisite for the Foundational 2 Training. You must log into your PAT eBusiness Portal to register for the training. Click the Foundational 2 Training: 3 Years Through Kindergarten in Billings, MT under the Education Tab > Class Schedule. Click the green button to Add this training to your Cart. Enter the Campaign Code: 644-MTApr6F2 before you Check Out so the costs of this training will be paid by Healthy Montana Families. When you click Complete Order, you will be able to view the details of the training; understand the computer requirements; as well as view the link to download the training syllabus. Each registrant should bring a laptop to access the online curriculum during the training. The Foundational 2 Training: Three Years Through Kindergarten registration closes 3/21/2016 without exception! We encourage early registration as there is a maximum number of participants allowed.
 
The training is scheduled from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm on Wednesday, April 6th and 8:30 am - 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 7th at the Crowne Plaza in Conference Room 5. Are you interested in working in the DPHHS Women's and Men's Health Section?  The WMHS is looking for a dynamic person to work as the Title X Family Planning Program Specialist.  This position provides support, outreach, training and technical assistance to contractors providing Title X services, as well as those working in Affordable Care Act outreach and enrollment.  Additional program management responsibilities include development and implementation of program evaluation and data collection systems.
