Quote of the Week

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead.

Implementing Male Services Webinar

January 29, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (ET)
Drawing men into family planning and reproductive health programs requires a culturally relevant approach that serves the whole person. This webinar introduces a new online Male Services Community of Practice (CoP), where you can find resources and tools to help you serve and retain men in your clinic services. The CoP is a forum where you can share your own tools and experiences serving men, as well as get advice and ideas from both peers and national experts.

Participants in this 3-unit course will learn the purpose of coding and how to create preventive medicine and problem-focused Evaluation and Management codes. They will also test their coding skills using examples of complex cases.

CDC Reports Hike in STI's
CDC reports hike in syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia in 2012

Primary and secondary cases of syphilis increased 11.1% in 2012, the CDC reported, while cases of gonorrhea increased 4% and chlamydia prevalence grew by 0.7%. Rates increased mostly among men in all three diagnoses, and study co-author Eloisa Llata, M.D., said reducing the prevalence of STDs depends partly on clinicians' adherence to screening recommendations and their willingness to ask patients about their sexual behaviors.
