Girl Scouts Do Great Things!
I Am a Princess Thank you to the Charity Ball Association for funding this month's "I am a Princess" program at the West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center at Coronado/Escobar!

Fifty Girl Scout Daisies had a magical experience working together at "the dream factory," where they made a beautiful tiaras, wands and tutus. The Girl Scouts transformed into beautiful princesses before moving to the "ballroom" and finding the glass slipper! Then they learned how to dance a waltz and ended the ball by curtsying to dads and moms (about 65 adults). Suddenly, a REAL princess came into the room-- Miss San Antonio's Outstanding Teen 2013! She talked about bullying, how to prevent it from happening to our little princesses and spoke about the importance of feeling beautiful and accepted. Finally, the princesses had a royal tea party with yummy strawberry and raspberry princess cupcakes.

All princesses and their families left home waving their wands, wearing their tiaras and tutus and, most importantly, feeling beautiful and appreciated!

The article discussed the success of the West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center at Coronado/Escobar, one of several previously vacant Edgewood Independent School District buildings that has been repurposed by the WDC for the use of the community. See the special section here.
