Earth Hour -- tomorrow!
Earth Hour Earth Hour takes place from 8:30-9:30 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, March 23. Can you imagine looking at a vision of lights going out through each time zone across the world one hour at a time? That's what happens when we join together to power down.

So far, in our efforts to power down and save energy through our relationship with Earth Hour, we've saved more than 50,433,069 kWh of energy and eliminated 77,666,926 pounds of CO2. That's like removing nearly 7,000 cars from our busy roads! By turning off your lights for just 60 minutes on March 23
, you can take positive action for the environment and inspire others to do the same.

Earth Hour is an invitation to change the world. By carrying out additional ways to conserve and save energy, you can make the symbolism of Earth Hour come alive throughout the year and create significant positive environmental impact.

Leadership Lounge coming soon!

GSSWT invites you to participate in the new monthly Leadership Lounge

Each month, the Volunteer Resources staff will host an evening just for you -- the adult volunteer. Join us at the lounge as we laugh, learn, listen, get loot and make lasting friendships. It's a place for you to meet other adults and share best practices, get new ideas, learn how to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, win door prizes, hear guest speakers and, most of all, build a better adult Girl Scout experience.

Girl Scout Shop will be open -- special discounts and deals will be available for these dates only!

Time for each date is 5:30-8:30 p.m. Dates that the Leadership Lounge will be open at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center (811 N. Coker Loop, San Antonio, 78216) are:

  • Wednesday, March 27
  • Tuesday, April 30
  • Monday, May 13

And at the West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center (5622 W. César E. Chávez Blvd., San Antonio, 78237):

  • Tuesday, April 9
  • Thursday, May 9

Questions? Contact Dawn Collins (210-349-2404/1-800-580-7247 ext. 212).
