Business Patch Partner Activities --
available online

Business patch programs provide the opportunity to explore topics beyond those in the Girls' Guide to Girl Scouting and other GSUSA resources. There are five business patch partners, each with a unique focus, that all of our girls can earn every year by completing five activities from their appropriate grade-level book.

Check out the activities for our five business patch partners below -- all conveniently located online! There are also grade-level booklets available for checkout in the Resource Center.

Girl Power! opens February 22

The Institute of Texan Cultures, in partnership with GSSWT, presents Girl Power!, an exhibition heralding the next century of Girl Scouting. The exhibit opens Friday, February 22 -- how appropriate for Girl Scouting's World Thinking Day!  Visit ITC's website for hours and admission.

Come experience the enduring values and traditions of this iconic organization as told through personal stories, photographs, artifacts and memorabilia. The exhibit will be on display through July 14.

A special family program -- Cookies, Community, Culture -- will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23. Additional special programs will be held March 23, April 6 and May 11 -- look for details in upcoming Volunteer Connections.

Volunteers of all ages needed
ITC is looking for girls and/or troops/groups of all ages to volunteer their time and talent at the special family programs on Saturday, February 23 and Saturday, March 23.

Volunteers directly contribute to the success of festivals and special events at ITC. Whether you're a student who needs volunteer hours, a kind-hearted citizen who enjoys volunteering at events or a corporate neighbor who prides on giving back to the community, we have a role for you. Benefits of volunteering include free event admission and making a difference. Volunteer opportunities include:
  • Greeters -- greet visitors as they enter the exhibit area and direct visitors to various activities
  • Craft Assistants -- assist participants in various craft projects.

Interested? Call 210-458-2279 or email museumtours@utsa.edu.

What's a birdie, you ask?! It's a score of one stroke under par (the expected score) for any hole on the golf course.

Girl Scouts go for the hard sell

2013 marks a milestone for the Girl Scouts, with a century of building "courage, confidence, and character" in young girls across the United States and beyond.
Wurzbach Parkway Progress

Keep an eye out for heavy equipment transportation in our area as construction on the Wurzbach Parkway extension continues to progress.

It's Cookie Season!

Traffic along Arion Parkway will be heavier over the next several weeks, requiring truck drivers working on the Wurzbach Parkway project to be more aware of vehicles with little passengers. Read the entire article here.

Construction on Wurzbach Parkway is scheduled for completion in 2015.
