More than 200 girls from six schools were pinned Tuesday as the third year of the nationally celebrated Gamma Sigma Girls® and Gamma Sigma Pearls™ program launched at Harlandale Independent School District's Investiture Ceremony for the 2012-2013 school year.
The pilot program first started in 2010 at Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas in San Antonio and has grown from 250 members in 10 high school campuses to a projected 700 girls in 25 schools from four area school districts.
This is made possible by unprecedented partnerships between Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and the Edgewood, Harlandale and San Antonio Independent School Districts. The program is generously supported by The Najim Family Foundation, a grant from the Dena and Lawrence Cade Fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation and a grant from the Ruth Lang Charitable Fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation.
Friends and supporters of Girl Scouts are invited to attend the San Antonio ISD Gamma Sigma Girls® and Pearls™ Investiture Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at Fox Tech High School (637 North Main Avenue, San Antonio, 78205). The Edgewood ISD Investiture Ceremony will be announced at a later date.
