The apple tree, which originally came from Eastern Europe and southwestern Asia, has spread to most temperate regions of the world. Over the centuries, many hybrids and cultivars have been developed giving us the 7,000 varieties on the market today.

Nutritious
One apple is a filling sweet snack with 4 grams of fiber and 95 calories. This almost fills the one cup daily requirement of recommended fruits.
Weight loss
Apples satisfy hunger for a few calories which makes them an excellent part of a weight loss program.
Heart Health
Last year the Iowa Woman's Health Study reported that among 34,000 women that they have been tracking for 20 years, apples were associated with lower risk of death from coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease. A Finnish report studying dietary data from 9,208 men and women over 28 years found that frequent apple eaters had the lowest risk of suffering strokes compared with non-apple eaters.
Exercise extender
Eating an apple before you work out may boost your endurance. Apples deliver an antioxidant called quercetin which aids in endurance by making oxygen more available to the lungs.
Gilad's advice
