News from Military Outreach
We have received a grateful thanks in response to our latest mailings - from soldiers deployed in South Korea for 6 months. They had been having a harrowing time with back-to-back exercises, and no break in sight, when our boxes arrived and gave them such a morale boost! They wanted us to know the boxes could not have come at a better time! Thank you all for your support. Gratefully, Susie Zimmerman and the Military Outreach team.
Coming Up!

Celebrate!
Sunday, May 22, at 10am service
We will honor 9 graduates, who have finished their 4 years of Monday night Education for Ministry (EfM) studies! These parishioners have been challenged by a program written by our own Episcopal Seminary, from Sewanee, Tennessee. A large part of each class is directed conversation using a method called 'Theological Reflection'. What does each participant believe? How has their faith been formed ? How is their conversation with, and what is their passion for being a part of God's loving work?
Join our continuing students!
As we celebrate with these graduates, we find there is room for more inquiring parishioners to join our continuing students already meeting. Will you join us in our next journey of growing your faith? We invite you to try this small group, just one year at a time. Come and See. As Paula says we must dig deeper to find the good bits! Please join us at Coffee Hour for some cake and conversation about Education for Ministry. We will accept sign ups until June 5. For more information, please contact any of the graduates, or co mentors, Susie Zimmerman 310-316-5941 or Wayne Hastings.

Adult Confirmation - June 26, 3pm
Do you want to know more about the Episcopal church, history and faith?   Have you been "confirmed as a Catholic or Lutheran" and want to become an "official" Episcopalian?   If you have already been confirmed then you can simply be "received" into the Episcopal Church by the Bishop.  Or do you want to "refresh" and renew your baptismal vows? Mo. Paula would like to meet with any adults who would like to receive this sacrament or learn more or update their faith.  There will be 2 sessions; dates TBD by group.  Bishop Diane will be presiding at Eucharist and this sacrament on June 26 at 3pm at St. Cross. There will be a special teen preparation offered in 2017.  Please contact Mo. Paula through the church office, her email, or see her in person after coffee hour, etc.
