Family Worship for this Sunday - postponed
We have decided to reschedule the instructed Eucharist (family worship) service at the 10 o'clock for a later date.
Sunday School will be available for all ages of children. See you there!

  • Set-up begins after 10:00 a.m. service this Sunday - volunteers appreciated!
  • Staffing - staffing lists will be posted in the church office and in the kitchen. Please check your time, and please park off campus-in streets of Paseo de la Playa (no parking restrictions there). This leaves room for our guests. Thank you!
  • We would appreciate donations of cookies, bars and tea sandwiches for March 4 and 5 and to call Laurie Anderson or Wendy Pratt with questions.
  • Donate your "Treasures" to the Silent Auction! - Please donate by Tuesday, March 1st.
    possible donations - chinaware, kitchen gadgets, gift cards to restaurants or services, entertainment related items Donations should be in good condition suitable for auction. We will happily provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. Please contact Mary Deley or call her on 424-212-9958 - thank you for your support! Also see the donation box in the church office behind Mary Sanchez' desk.
  • Designs for Dining invitations are available for pickup after both services and in the church Office. Take some, too, for friends and neighbors. Also, we have flyers and posters.  Think about a store, cleaners, hair salon etc. you frequent that you could ask if they will post one. 
  • In the church kitchen, there is a labeled box to put shopping bags for our boutique and also lemons for our beverages.

     
Two Special Chef Bell Items
Raffle - catered dinner for 12.
For the past 8 years, Chef Robert Bell of Chez Melange has donated a catered dinner for 12 (including appropriate wines) in your home, as a raffle item for Designs for Dining This generous donation of his, as well as his participation in our wine auctions has garnered the St. Francis Outreach Scholarship Fund over $19,724.

Silent Auction - 3 hour cooking class in your home or another venue.
The minimum bid for this very special item in our silent auction will be $500. You may invite your friends and Chef Robert will prepare the meal (with wines) and then you will partake of the foods prepared. Think of a very special occasion that you may have coming up this year where this would be the perfect celebratory solution to ...."what shall I do for my 50th birthday, anniversary" etc. Or, think about getting together with a group of friends, guild members, or a giving a gift to a special person. In 2013, the final bid price of the 3 hour cooking class was $950, so be thinking of how this special event could work into your social plans in 2015.
We Know You Can Sing!
Our choir is looking for some new singing partners. Maybe you? Being able to sing is helpful, being able to read music is great, but being willing and reliable is really important! We offer on-the-job training. We also have a lot of fun. We meet Thursdays from 7:15-9:00 and Sunday mornings at 9:00 to get ready for the 10:00 service. Join now and you'll be ready to help with the awesome music of Holy Week and Easter! Call or email Jeannie Cobb with questions, or just show up Thursday night!

Mo. Paula's Installation Celebration
Sunday March 20, 4:00pm
Please come help celebrate Paula's Installation as our 5th Rector at St. Francis. Immediately following the service we will have a catered Italian Feast in the Parish Hall as our Parish family celebrates our Paula!

We are accepting donations to sponsor this very special party, and will welcome your donation to offset the cost of the catered feast. If you can help, please make your check payable to St. Francis and note in the Memo Section: Paula's Reception.

It's Back! Undie Sunday! 
March 13th - please bring your generous donations to either service   St Luke's Homeless Ministry is in desperate need of more supplies of new underwear for the people they serve. Underwear (boxers men)  and bras for the ladies. Larger sizes preferred.

Save the Dates! Godspell!
On Saturday, May 21 at 7:00pm and Sunday, May 22 at 3:00pm  The youth of St Francis will present a fully staged performance of the musical Godspell. Tickets will be $5 and will go on sale later this month. Be sure to save the dates and think about who you'd like to bring to share this joyful experience.
