A Performance of Robert Ray's Gospel Mass
Plus other Gospel Favorites.
This Sunday, October 25, 4:00pm
Enjoy this taster from River Campus at Southeast Missouri State University.
 
Note - the performance is a simple worship with music, scripture and prayers, but it does not include Holy Communion.
No admission charge-a free-will offering will be received.

Thank you to those families who have given their completed registration form to us. In case of any emergency, we know by having these forms, we can be ready.
If you have not done so already, please turn in a registration form for each child ages 0-11 (yes, even those children in the Nursery) to church office or on first Sunday your children attend. Click here for forms.
 
We provide Godly Play Parent Pages for parents to help recall--and in a sense relive--the Godly Play presentation at home.  With this in mind, each Parent Page begins with suggestions for encouraging this sharing, then offers a condensed retelling of the lesson.  Also, each Parent Page gives you information to help you understand Godly Play methodology and purpose.  Click here to see this week's Parent Page,

Taizé Service of Healing & Wholeness
Tuesday, October 27th, 7 pm
Join us again for our Taizé service of healing. This Taizé service, filled with music and candlelight, also provides the option for intercessory prayer with a Prayer team leader. We pray that the time will be a healing comfort for whatever you face or hold in your heart.

Gifts and comfort from home mailed in time to arrive for the holidays. Please place your items in the Military Outreach Baskets in the Board Room.  So that we have enough boxes on hand, if you will be helping to pack, please call Susie Zimmerman at 310-316-5941 or email Julie McGovern to let us know you're coming. Henry Nouwen's - Reaching Out: The Three Movements Of The Spiritual Life
Six Tuesdays Beginning November 10 At 6:30pm

Henri Nouwen was one of the most significant writers on spirituality of the late twentieth century. We will be using his spiritual classic Reaching Out as a springboard for examining and deepening our spiritual lives in the context of a small nurture group. Coming Up! 
godgiverGod the Giver
Living in the Kingdom of God is to be aware of the abundance with which God surrounds us. God's gifts to us are too numerous to count, and even too numerous for us to see. This fall, we are exploring the reality of "God the Giver", and how we respond. One way we respond is by giving from what we have been entrusted with to God's mission and ministry through St. Francis. Between now and November 15th, we will hear members of our community share stories of their experiences of God's gifts here at St. Francis. Each week our bulletin will include a "God the Giver" insert, with a reflection on the Gospel reading by a lay or ordained leader in the Episcopal Church. We will also share, through print form, stories of how God is transforming people through St. Francis, and how we use money here for God's mission and ministry.

On November 15th, we will gather our giving commitments (pledge cards) for 2016. We will place these in the offering baskets, and they will be blessed on the altar. After the 10am service, we will have a festive Mimosa Brunch to celebrate who we are, God's abundance in our lives, and our response.

We can also use help in Ticket Sales, Decorating and Publicity. Just let us know what suits you best.
