As an opportunity to prepare ourselves for the release in December of Episode VII The Force Awakens... You are invited to six Friday evenings of Star Wars! We will show each of the first six Episodes. Bring snacks and drinks to share and prepare for great fellowship and fun!

Thank you to those families who have given their completed registration form to us. In case of any emergency, we know by having these forms, we can be ready.
If you have not done so already, please turn in a registration form for each child ages 0-11 (yes, even those children in the Nursery) to church office or on first Sunday your children attend. Click here for forms.
 
We provide Godly Play Parent Pages for parents to help recall--and in a sense relive--the Godly Play presentation at home.  With this in mind, each Parent Page begins with suggestions for encouraging this sharing, then offers a condensed retelling of the lesson.  Also, each Parent Page gives you information to help you understand Godly Play methodology and purpose.  Click here to see this week's Parent Page, The Flood and the Ark.
Rev. Peter Representing St Francis In Korea!
Rev. Peter Huang is in Korea as part of the Episcopal AsiaAmerica Ministries Bi-Annual Consultation. He is representing St Francis and also the Chinese Convocation, of which he is Secretary. Check out this Facebook post of Rev. Peter with Bishop Diane at the Seoul Anglican Cathedral. Here he is proclaiming the Gospel in Mandarin! Godspeed Peter and hurry home!

Coming Up! 
ECW Annual Disbursements Meeting 
Sunday October 18, following 10am worship, Board Room
Deadline for submissions - Sunday October 11 
The disbursement includes those monies raised through the Antique Show and Guild dues.  Traditionally, a portion of our fundraising goes to church projects and another portion to outreach external to our church in addition to a pledge to church operations. 
 
If an organization in our church would like to submit a request for funds or a suggestion for ECW consideration, please submit the name of the group, purpose of gift (it can be general e.g. garden upkeep) and suggested amount if you have one in mind (it is not required) to the ECW box in the office by Sun, Oct 11.

Clergy Transition Process

The St. Francis Vestry is very pleased to announce that Bishop Bruno has named Mother Paula as our Priest in Charge Under Special Circumstances (PIC-USC) effective April 1st! This decision initiates a formal mutual discernment period of 12 months to call Mother Paula as our Rector. As always, feel free to contact our Senior Warden Fabrizio, or any Vestry member if you have any questions regarding the Rector transition process. Any Vestry member can be contacted via the church office at 310-375-4617. You can also email Fabrizio directly.
