What's Happening!

Parent & Me Play Time
Hello St. Francis Parents of 0-4 year olds!
My 14 month old daughter, Alice, loves playing with her friends at Sunday school and we would like to set up a play date! Come join in fun and fellowship while sharing the "joys" of parenting.
Our first meeting is Saturday May 16th from 9:30 -11:00 am
in the Sunday school room. Come meet each other, play together, and plan for future gatherings. Any ideas and thoughts for activities and date/times to meet are welcomed! Sign up or just show up!
Questions, suggestions, or get on a mailing list? Contact Julie.
LGBT Pot-Luck
Saturday May 16, 6pm
Please join us for fellowship and discussion of St Francis LGBT ministry: where have we come from, where we are now, and where do we want to go from here? Specifically, do we want to continue the ministry with more activities or do we all feel we are in a safe and welcoming place and should dissolve the group?

This Sunday - the Spirituality of John Muir
Sunday May 17th
The Rev. Bud Williams is our guest preacher at both services, and at 11:30am, will be presenting "The Sprituality of John Muir". John Muir was a Scottish-American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher and early advocate of preservation of wilderness, especially in the Sierra Nevada. His activism helped to preserve the Yosemite Valley, Sequoia National Park, and he also founded the Sierra Club.

Have Fun Helping Out...

You have not been called to help with the Antiques Show?

Maybe you joined  the church after January, 2014 and are not in our directory.  I would love to have you call me. The show still needs volunteers to donate two or three hours to help with the success of our beautiful annual fundraiser for the parish.

I have Saturday openings for tickets and hospitality (sit-down). The Harvest Cupboard needs another person on each day of the show.  Various openings on each day.

Let me tell you how much fun it is to participate.

Need a prayer, or to talk with the clergy?

Contact Mo. Paula
or via the church office on 310-375 4617.

You are not interrupting our work -

you ARE our work!

Or just come to any or all of our services, and take a moment to sit quietly, light a candle in memory, or to symbolize your feeling, and let God be God - in you - for a few small, still moments. With blessings and prayers for comfort and love.

Clergy Transition Process

The St. Francis Vestry is very pleased to announce that Bishop Bruno has named Mother Paula as our Priest in Charge Under Special Circumstances (PIC-USC) effective April 1st! This decision initiates a formal mutual discernment period of 12 months to call Mother Paula as our Rector. As always, feel free to contact our Senior Warden Fabrizio, or any Vestry member if you have any questions regarding the Rector transition process. Any Vestry member can be contacted via the church office at 310-375-4617. You can also email Fabrizio directly.
