What's Happening...

Farewell Celebration For The Phelps Family
This Sunday, January 25th
after the 10 am service

You are invited to a celebration honoring Mother Sarah Phelps' 7 years as the Rector of St. Francis Parish, and her last Sunday at St Francis.  

 

We'll be sending her, Mike and Sam off with a special blessing for the Phelps family during both services, followed by the Reception Buffet and Celebration in the parish hall after 10am worship.  

 

Since the family is moving to North Carolina, get ready for some pulled pork, mac and cheese, corn, creamy coleslaw, pecan pie, cake, sweet tea, coffee and lemonade! Plus celebratory tributes and remembrances, with musical offerings!

Taizé Service of Healing and Wholeness
Tuesday, January 27th, 7pm

Join us again for our Taizé service of healing.  

This Taizé service, filled with music and candlelight, also provides the option for intercessory prayer with a Prayer team leader. We pray that the time will be a healing comfort for whatever you face or hold in your heart.

(you will receive receipt for tax deduction purposes).

Valentine Cabaret!
Saturday, January 31, 7pm
As a warm-up to Valentines's Day, come enjoy an evening of refreshments, wine, candlelight and song as Jeannie Cobb, accompanied by Curt Sather and Steve Kinigstein, present a program of love songs. These songs illustrate the full range of love, from happy to sad, and come from both classical and musical theater repertoires. Refreshments and coffee will be offered for free, there will be a small charge for wine. Free-will donations to support the Music Ministries will also be received. Download flyer here...

Annual Parish Meeting
Sunday, February 8, 2015 (following the 10 am service)
Potluck meal - see sign-up sheet in the Parish Hall to let us know what you're bringing!

The Annual Meeting will begin with a potluck lunch and includes our annual "look back" at the year past, and a "look ahead" to 2015. New Vestry Members and delegates for our Annual Diocesan Convention will be elected, and the budget for 2015 will be presented. .
Embracing Franciscan Spirituality
Tuesdays February 10, February 17, February 24, March 3, and March 10, Library 7-9pm  Facilitated by Alison Houghton-Kral  
Alison will lead 5 small group sessions using a DVD-and-discussion-based curriculum called "Embracing Franciscan Spirituality." The DVD features Fr. Richard Rohr, from the Centre for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque. He is described as "a rare figure whose transformative wisdom transcends the narrow categories of denominations within the church, and speaks to all Christians, all believers, and indeed all seekers.... (he is) a Christian spiritual master." Please bring $14 to the first session to purchase the participant handbook.
