Avon Walk for Breast Cancer -
Thank You to All!

The Walk was amazing. Very moving (lots of survivors, and lots of people walking in memory of loved ones), but also hugely fun. My team raised over $12K and all the walkers together raised $4.5 million.

Interfaith Relations in Los Angeles
This Tuesday September 16th, 7:30pm
Dawn Unity is sponsoring a talk on "Interfaith Relations in Los Angeles" by Fr. Alexei Smith Director of Ecumenical and Religious Affairs for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles who has been at the center of that world for 14 years. St Francis Scholarship Outreach Fund
Every September we must re-register for participation in the Ralph's community contribution program Please see our article on p. 12 of September's Bellringer for full details of how to register or re-register, including a copy of the scanbar you may need. We appreciate your support in this important part of the St Francis Outreach Scholarship Fund fundraising. If you have never participated in this program, please consider signing up to help us send deserving students to college. Contact Joni McIntyre and I will send you instructions. We support St. Luke's shower program for the needy in Long Beach.
You can help by: * giving donations * helping prepare and serve breakfast * helping 'behind the scenes' (eg. with the clothing closet).

Next Taizé Service Of Healing And Wholeness

Join us again for our Taizé service of healing. This Taizé service, filled with music and candlelight, also provides the option for intercessory prayer with a Prayer team leader. We pray that the time will be a healing comfort for whatever you face or hold in your heart.

Embracing a Life of Meaning
Tuesdays, Sept 30, Oct 7, Oct 14, Oct 21 and Oct 28, 7 - 9 pm, Library
Facilitated by The Rev. Sarah Phelps
Mo. Sarah will lead 5 small group sessions using a DVD-and-discussion-based curriculum called "Embracing a Life of Meaning." The DVD features Kathleen Norris, an award-winning poet, writer and author of four New York Times bestsellers including Dakota, The Cloister Walk and Amazing Grace. Her writing has been described as "intimate and historical, rich in poetry and meditations, brimming with exasperation and reverence, deeply grounded in both nature and spirit, sometimes funny and often provocative." Please bring $14 to the first session to purchase the participant guidebook.
