Adoption Day has Finally Arrived!

Or, just come to church at 10 am on Sunday, Aug 31 for the Blessing of our Adoption, and join us for cake and little party afterward to celebrate this moment of joy! The reception will be hosted by the Phelps Family and Sam's godmother (Mo. Paula!). No gifts please!

Summer Breakfasts

Each week - 9am - 10am
Breakfast in the parish hall at 9 am each Sunday through August, hosted by your Vestry Members and Ministry Council Shepherds.  Donations gladly received, but not expected.

Kittens - Last chance to adopt

Please contact Mary in the church office (310 375-4617)  if you or anyone you know would be able to adopt, or even foster a kitten or two for a while.

Kids In Church

Sunday school is on summer break through August 24th.
Our new year starts Sunday August 31st. Registration forms for 2014/15 are on our website under Families and Kids.
In the meantime we sincerely love to see (and hear!) you and your kids in church. Please ask an usher for a copy of the 'Sunday Papers' as a worship aid for your child(ren). Come to summer breakfast first, and save yourself some work!
Nursery care is still available in the library for children aged 3 and under. For more information, please contact Kate Buchen, Minister for Children and Families.

Memorial Service for Corinne Mashy

The Memorial Service for Corinne Mashy will be held next week:

Thursday August 21st, at 1:30pm in the Chapel.  

Let us pray for the repose of her soul, and for the peace and comfort of her family.  

Rest eternal grant to her, O Lord: And let light perpetual shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Altar Guild Salad and Dessert Meeting

Wed. September 3 at 6 p.m. The Altar Guild welcomes everyone to our first meeting after our summer break. Members will bring a salad or dessert and a beverage to share. This is a good opportunity for any Church member who might be interested in this ministry to join us on the 3rd, we look forward to having you join our guild. Our meeting will follow at 7. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Alexei Smith Director of Ecumenical and Religious Affairs for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles who has been at the center of that world for 14 years.
