Come Hungry to Church!

Summer Breakfasts are back!
We aren't under the arches for worship this summer, but come along for breakfast in the parish hall at 9 am each Sunday through July and August, hosted by your Vestry Members and Ministry Council Shepherds. It is a great time to catch up with church friends and make some new ones. Donations gladly received, but not expected.

New - Urgent Plea for St Luke's Shower And Breakfast Program For The Homeless

Urgent need - The program is in desperate need of volunteer help on all Saturdays, except the 1st of the month. No need to pre-arrange - just go along any time between 8 and 10:30am. More details here...

Right now the program also needs-MENS' socks, underwear, pants (casual only) and shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts and light jackets. Please think of St. Luke's as you clean out your closets or buy socks and underwear for your own family.

Next regular date - Saturday, July 19, 7:00am - 10:30am, or any part of that time. Thank you!

A Creampuff for the Cookies!

Thanks to the amazing Priscilla Logan for the incredibly generous donation of her 2000 Toyota Camry to one of Mama Hill's Help volunteers, Paulette Goff, a social worker in training. Priscilla's Camry had only 40,000 miles on it and was dubbed "a creampuff" by its mechanic!

Dinner and a Movie - All Invited

Saturday, August 2, - 5:30 pm
Who wouldn't LOVE a delicious chef-prepared dinner out that includes dinner for your kids (if you have 'em) and free babysitting? Robert and Jeff from Mr. J's Kitchen (the catering team who "wowed" us at the Antiques Show), will cater a fantastic Santa Maria Style BBQ ($15 per adult). For kids-a special menu ($6 per child), and a separate movie. Tickets must be pre-purchased and will be on sale thru Sun, July 27 at coffee hour after church or in the church office through Mary Sanchez, 310-375-4617. Full details on our website.

LA Dodgers Episcopal Night

Sign-up on clipboard in office - deadline: Sun Aug. 3rd
Friday, September 5, at 7pm. Dodgers v. Diamondbacks.
The Fellowship Ministry hopes to have enough parishioners and friends going to the game that we can hire a bus - with surprise refreshments! Base ticket price - $21 - plus cost of bus if enough people sign up.
