What's Happening...

Blessings for Mothers' Day
This Sunday May 11th

Don't miss the delicious sticky buns hand-made and served at coffee hour!

And do you remember these beautiful prayers written by our young people for all women on Mothers' Day from last year?
Here they are again...
Mother's Day/Teacher's Gift Sale
Parish Hall on May 4th after both 8am and 10a.m. services.
Mother's Day/Teacher Gift Sale continues this Sunday in support of the St Francis Scholarship Outreach Fund.
There will be some new items, and hopefully also more plants.
Apologies that Jenny Gomez' family had car trouble last week, so arrived too late to be there. She is nevertheless so grateful!
Episcopal Church Women

This will be a short business meeting to accommodate... garden tour (open to all parish members)
A tour of the changes in the gardens of the church will be led following the ECW meeting at 10:30am. All are welcome to enjoy a stroll through our multi-leveled gardens. Please meet in front of the parish hall.

Food & Wine donations terrace-meal-sm.jpg
Elaine Mistele would be very grateful for donations for the Antique Show Gala coming up on Wednesday the 28th of May.
What or how much is entirely up to you. Even an entire table featuring your favorite food or join another group or help with the serving! Individual dishes or finger desserts, etc. will be much appreciated also.
We want this to be a very memorable Gala with a huge variety of food and drink. Thank you so much!
Pastoral Care Availability in May -
Please Make a Note

With a few exceptions, Mo. Sarah will be out recovering from surgery until May 23. Mo. Paula is on vacation/renewal leave through May 24.

For pastoral emergencies on or after May 11, please first call Mo. Sarah at 310-408-0585 and she will respond as able, or arrange for the care of another priest if needed.
Baptism Gift
You know who you are - but we don't...!
Mo. Sarah and Mike would love to thank the kind person who gave a Trader Joes' gift certificate for Sam's Baptism, which unfortunately became detached from its card. Please let Mo. Sarah know who you are so we can thank you properly!
And a great thank you to all who sent gifts and best wishes.
Mo. Sarah and Mike,

An Invitation!  You Don't Want To Miss Out On The Fun!
It's so much fun to get together and meet with old and new friends while having the satisfaction that comes with spending a few hours helping at the Antiques Show.  Every year we hear stories of new friendships made and of the fun they had..

So don't miss out. There are lots of opportunities every day from Tuesday through Saturday.  RSVP to my invitation by responding to:

P.S.  I MAY BE AT SOME SERVICES WITH A CLIPBOARD.  LOOK FOR ME.
2014 Antique Show - Harvest Cupboard
The Antique Show Harvest Cupboard needs your help.   We are asking the members of the Saint Francis Community to get out those baking pans and jam jars and create some goodies to be sold at the Antique Show.

Mo. Sarah
'Doubting' Thomas? Maybe not...

Need a prayer, or to talk with the clergy?

Contact Mo. Sarah or Mo. Paula
or via the church office on 310-375 4617.

You are not interrupting our work -

you ARE our work!

Or just come to any or all of our services, and take a moment to sit quietly, light a candle in memory, or to symbolize your feeling, and let God be God - in you - for a few small, still moments. With blessings and prayers for comfort and love.
