Labyrinth Talk
Sponsored by Women of Wisdom - (for single and single again women over 35).
This Friday evening, October 11th, in the library at 6pm
Local artist, Peninsula resident and labyrinth expert Annemarie Rawlinson will give a talk on the "Historical Roots of the Labyrinth and its Contemporary Uses," followed by a guided walk on her portable 20-foot canvas Cretan labyrinth in the parish hall. Award-winning artist and Peninsula resident Annemarie Rawlinson founded Friends of the Labyrinth, a citizens' group dedicated to creating a community labyrinth garden in San Pedro in 1996. In 1998, she trained as a certified labryinth facilitator with Dr. Lauren Artress of Grace Cathedral. Since then, she has created numerous permanent labyrinths in public and private places, and labyrinth motifs appear frequently in her artwork.

A message from Mo. Sarah regarding fall "cottage meetings"
Cottage meetings are small group meetings in informal settings, to talk about our priorities as a parish.
Not held every year (2009 was the last time), but only when we need to come together around a particular issue in our ministry -- in this case, our ministry with children, youth, and families.
At this year's meetings, we hope to have a Spirit-filled conversation with you about how best to feed the faith-lives of our young people given all the challenges facing families today.
This is a conversation for you even if you no longer consider yourself young, and even if you never had children.
Why?
Because this is a conversation about our work as a COMMUNITY to pass on the faith that we have received. And it won't happen by osmosis; that's for sure.
So please sign up now and join the conversation about what we can do as a parish to help this ministry grow. And, by way of full disclosure, yes, we WILL talk about money and what resources are needed for to support this ministry over the long haul; but your decisions about financial giving will be yours to make in prayerful consideration at home, after the meeting.
This comes with Love,
Mo. Sarah+

Need a prayer, or to talk with the clergy?
or via the church office on 310-375 4617.
You are not interrupting our work -
you ARE our work!
Or just come to any or all of our services, and take a moment to sit quietly, light a candle in memory, or to symbolize your feeling, and let God be God - in you - for a few small, still moments. With blessings and prayers for comfort and love.
