What does a crown look like to you?

Please join us in Celebrating the Life of Al Sargent
This Saturday, March 2 at 11am in the Main Church with a lunch reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
Al always loved a good old-fashioned church potluck, so in his memory we invite all to bring a favorite dish to share "family style" with all of Al's good family and friends. Please bring your dish, hot or cold, to the church kitchen any time after 9:30 am. Let's make it a joyful occasion of thanksgiving for this wonderful man who was beloved by so many in our parish! Refreshing the Spirit - Yours and Theirs
A Workshop for Pastoral Care, this Sunday, March 3rd 11:30am - 1pm. For all with any interest in pastoral care. All welcome. There is a second chance to attend on Wednesday March 13th 9:30 - 11:30.

Designs for Dining is Here!! 
Next Friday March 8th, Saturday March 9th
10:00 to 4:00
The Major Fund-raiser for the St Francis Scholarship Outreach Fund.
Final preparations for designs for Dining 2013 are underway. If you are already signed up to help out, thank you very much! Here are some more opportunities to contribute:
- Important - prepare tea sandwiches, cookies, coffee items or finger desserts for the event. You may deliver Thursday 3/07, Friday 3/08 or Saturday 3/09 mornings to the kitchen any time after 9:00 a.m. with a note that it's for Designs for Dining.
- Work a shift during the event. please e-mail Cheryl or phone (310) 791-7038. We especially need a volunteer to sit in the church office on Saturday, March 9 to answer the phone, answer questions etc. from 9:30 to 12pm.
- Help with set-up - Sun, March 3 after 10am service or Thurs morning, March 1. We can use strong men for this!
- Help with clean up - Saturday, March 3, after 4p.m.
- Invite your Friends! Let them know about our beautiful and entertaining event, and tell them all about our Scholarship Fund. You may pick up invitations at the church office and deliver them or send them with a personal note.

Lenten Supper Program:
No meeting next Wednesday (March 6th), as we take a break for Designs for Dining. Our next session is Wednesday 13th.

Operation Girl Scout Cookies 
Imagine being far from home, and receiving a box of those cookies...
- Buy a box for the troops - Place cookies in the Military Outreach basket in the Parish Hall by next Sunday, March 10, 2013.
- Or donate the postage for one box - $14.85. Make checks payable to St. Francis with "Military Outreach" on the memo line, and leave in the church office or collection plate.

Antiques Show 2013 Needs Luncheons Chairman  May 29 (Gala), May 30th, 31st and June 1st
For many years, Wendy and Jeff Dahlgren have been in charge of luncheons. Not only have we enjoyed the delicious meals, but Wendy's spontaneous laughter, organization and music, and Jeff's calm attitude flavored the daily luncheons. Unfortunately, changes in the family business means they cannot continue. Please call Anna Eakins at (310-297-0701) to find out more about this very important opportunity. Be in charge of just one day or all three - we are very flexible. Other ways to serve: Gala Committee, Afternoon Dealers Tea/Refreshments, Construction, and Beverage Committee. We cannot over-emphasize the fun and fellowship found in working with parishioners and friends during this very important fund raiser for the Church. Read more about our show here...
