     The Library is adding a self-registration feature to our Calendar of Events whereby patrons can begin to sign-up for library programs or events over the internet with a click of the mouse. Phone registration is still available for people without computers. We are launching this service for the children's summer reading programs (see below).  

 

I want to thank everyone who came to vote at the Library's recent Board Election. The Library Board decided against raising the tax rate above last year's assessment so there was no budget vote.

 

There are a number of upcoming events to read about below. Don't forget to "Like us" on our Facebook pages ("Marlboro Free Library" and "Kids at Marlboro Free Library") and follow us at "MarlboroLibrary" on Twitter.

Dance Recital Benefit, June 8 & 9

 

The Anita-Jean Dance Theatre will be holding recitals at the Marlboro High School on Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 9 at 2 p.m. Proceeds for this event are donated to the Marlboro Free Library. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this wonderful local event. 

        

Book Barn open Saturday, June 8
 

Unless there is a deluge on Saturday, the Book Barn, run by the Friends of the Library, will be open for business from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Book Barn is open every second Saturday of the month through October. Stop by for some good deals!

Online Registration starts June 10
 
 
Use the new calendar on our webpage (marlborolibrary.org) to register for this summer's exciting new programs. Descriptions and hours are available on the calendar. It all launches at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 10. Walk-in registration also begins at that time. 
Sunday hours suspended starting June 16
 
   
A quick reminder that the Library building will be closed on Sundays during the summer starting on Father's Day. There are a number of services still available from the Library website. Sunday hours recommence on the weekend following Labor Day.

 

Job Help Lab, June 20
 
The Library's new laptop lab, will open in the community room on Thursdays this summer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. exclusively for job seekers beginning June 20. Please register for a spot.

AARP Driver Safety Class, June 29

By popular demand, the Library will be hosting another 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. class. In-person pre-registration with payment is required - $17 with AARP registration card, or $19 without. Make check or money order payable to AARP.  Please bring your driver's license and a bag lunch.
