Dear Friends,
We're using the American Library Association's National Library Week "Community Matters" theme to promote some of our great programs and services. We're offering prizes and surprises from Sunday, April 14, to Saturday, April 20. We're also asking for constructive criticism about our services and suggestions for ways to improve what we offer to the community. Find our suggestion box in our lobby display. Don't forget to "Like us" on our Facebook pages (Marlboro Free Library and Kids at Marlboro Free Library) and follow us at MarlboroLibrary on Twitter.

Library Card Replacement Fee Waived
All school district residents are entitled to a free library card, but if you lose it there is a $5.00 replacement fee. That fee will be waived during National Library Week. In keeping with the spirit of this year's community theme, we encourage those who take advantage of this offer to bring a canned food item to the Library for St. Mary's food pantry.

Laptop Lab Preview
Come get a preview of our new mobile laptop lab, which will transform the community room into a classroom when needed. We're putting the finishing touches on this exciting new service which addresses the need for hands-on computer instruction AND for creating a quiet place for job hunters. Demonstrations will be on Monday evening, April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Test-Drive Lynda.com
When you're learning something new, if you'd rather have someone show you than tell you, then you owe it to yourself to try our Lynda.com video training kiosk. During National Library Week we'll give a free travel mug or book light to anyone who tries it (while supplies last). The videos are short, and although they're organized into courses, you can dip in and out of a sequence and learn just what you need. This valuable service can help you get a job, keep a job, or pursue a hobby! Don't be shy. Try it this week.

Win This Book
As a way to promote our Local History collection, we're offering the book Marlborough: Images of America as a raffle prize for all those who visit and leave a comment on our local history page, which is kept updated and interesting by Emily Amodeo. It's a treasure too long hidden. You can also reach this page from the Library website and view the Library's digital contribution to the Hudson River Valley Heritage collection.

Get Posterized!
On Wednesday of National Library Week, we'll be scouring the district trying to catch readers in the act. If we find you with a book or electronic reading device, we may put you in one of our famous READ posters. Watch for our camera crew and maybe we'll make you a library star!
