Dear Friends,

Spring is bringing upgrades and enhancements to your library experience. The online catalog has added some nifty features, the process to find and retrieve ebooks on Overdrive has been improved, and there are some tech upgrades with our circulation software that will improve our interface but cause a temporary service interruption this month.

We send our best wishes to librarian Sue Scott who has moved on to become Software Support Technician at the Ramapo-Catskill Library System. We also thank Joan Miller for offering a free yoga class for moms and toddlers (please register soon!).

Best regards,

Jim Cosgrove, Director
Mommy & Me Yoga class

Bring your mats for a free class with instructor Joan Miller of Bootleg Yoga that promotes fitness and bonding with your toddler (strong walkers to 3 years old). This class is designed to help moms regain strength and flexibility while connecting with other moms. Three initial classes have been scheduled to determine interest - Thursdays April 4, May 2, and June 6. The half-hour class starts at 10:30 a.m. Please call the Library to register right away! Space is limited.

Ebook delivery simplified

The good news is that ebooks from libraries are free; the bad news was that they were complicated to retrieve. Overdrive has made a major leap toward changing that reality. Click on "Discover the Next Generation Experience" after you click on the "blue E" from our website for written and video instructions to improve your ebook or audiobook download experience.

Library catalog enhanced

Item records in the catalog are much easier to read and they include graphic enhancements such as: cover art showing series titles, recommendations of other items you might like by series, titles and authors, book reviews, and more!  Click on the caption below for a demonstration.
Library closing early on Tuesday, April 23

Please mark your calendars. All 66 MidHudson libraries will need an entire day to upgrade our Integrated Library System (ILS) circulation software.

The Library will close at 1 p.m., but will be open in the morning to accomodate patrons who need to fax, photocopy or check email. Childrens programming will be held in the morning only. All other library services will be unavailable throughout the day. Library staff will be receiving training in implementing and using this new software. We apologize for the inconvenience.
