Make a blind date with a book
For Library Lovers Month, make a blind date with a book! You won't be able to judge these books by their covers because they are gift-wrapped. Move out of your comfort zone. Take a blind leap and read a book you wouldn't normally choose.
It's easy. Choose a mysterious book. Unwrap it at home. Read the book. Submit a review and bring it to the front desk or post it to the Library Facebook page to be entered into a drawing for a booklight (March 6th). Enjoy! |

Bryan Collier selected for book award
Congratulations to Marlboro resident Bryan Collier for winning the American Library Association's 2013 Coretta Scott King Award for book illustration. The award is given annually to outstanding African American illustrators of books for children and young adults demonstrating an appreciation of African American culture
and values.
Mr. Collier won the award for I, Too, Am America, published by Simon & Schuster Books. In I, Too, Am America, Collier offers a picture book rendition of Langston Hughes' famous poem of the same name as a tribute to Pullman porters. His trademark mixed-media collage illustrations and visual symbolism engage readers, invoking the sensation of movement and the unstoppable changes in our collective American history.
We are very excited that Mr. Collier will be doing a program with local children during the Library's upcoming summer reading program! You'll find many of his books in the Library collection. |

New Magazines Added
Three new titles have been added to our magazine collection for 2013 to replace three magazines we dropped due to lack of circulation. All of our magazines can be borrowed (even the most current issues) for one week and they are also renewable. The main rack is in the lobby but we also keep some titles in the reference area. This year's new titles cover the areas of science:

and Food:
