A.J. Schenkman is the last of our visiting authors for Thursdays at Seven 2012. Please call the Library (236-7272, ext.14) or register online to let us know that you are coming. Drop-ins are welcome. All talks begin at 7 p.m. sharp!
Educated and employed locally, Mr. Schenkman has used the Hudson River Valley Heritage online site as a resource for his research. I highly recommend visiting this site not only for its collection of interesting local historic photographs, but for its collection of old local newspapers that have been digitized for easy access. If you're a history buff, you'll find things both wonderful and wicked!
Jim Cosgrove, Director |

Thursday, November 15 - A.J. Schenkman
Come hear tales of wickedness from A. J. Schenkman, author of Wicked Ulster County: Tales of Desperadoes, Gangs and More, published in 2012 by Local History Press. Mr. Schenkman's previous book, Washington's Headquarters in Newburgh, was published by Arcadia Press in 2008. A graduate of SUNY/New Paltz, he teaches history in the Wallkill School District. Maybe we'll hear stories too wicked to be included in the book. There are certain to be copies for sale and signature by the author. See you at seven. |
