Don't miss the 2015 JAMsj Winter Boutique! Admission is free! Museum members can start their shopping an hour earlier, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The general public can enter at 10:00 a.m. The boutique closes at 3:30 p.m.
A Great Way to Help JAMsj This is the annual fundraiser for the Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj) - a 100% volunteer-run, non-profit organization. Join us for a popular line-up of Bay Area artists, crafts people and special guest authors Curt Fukuda and Ralph M. Pearce You! The authors of San Jose Japantown - A Journey, will be available will be available for book signing. In addition, you will find a wide variety of Asian-inspired jewelry, clothing, home goods, wall art, ceramics and much more! A percentage of every purchase goes toward the museum at this annual fundraising event.
Donation Drawing Prizes Winners need not be present to win. 1st Prize: $500 2nd Prize: $300 3rd Prize: $200 Plus many more great prizes donated by our artists and vendors!

Don't miss your chance to watch the documentary about actor and activist George Takei. The film spans his life from his WWII incarceration camp experience through his TV career as Sulu in the original Star Trek TV series. In the film, George and his husband/business partner Brad share about his playful and profound trek for life, liberty, and love.
The audience will also view a special, short interview with JAMsj Curator Jimi Yamaichi filmed in the museum's Barracks Room.
Event Cost is $10 for non-members; $8 for students and seniors; $5 for JAMsj members and children under 12 (Museum Admission is included in the Event price).

The next meeting of the Japanese American Museum of San Jose's (JAMsj) Book Club will be to discuss Jay Rubin's book, The Sun Gods. This book tells the story of Bill, a young American boy who was forced into a life of internment with his Japanese-born surrogate mother. Two decades after his experience at the Minidoka Internment Camp, memories of his long-lost mother continue to haunt Bill, sparking an arduous journey that leads him to find his Japanese mother and learn the truth about their shared past.
The Book Club meets at 1:00 p.m. the first Saturday of every other month at JAMsj. Meetings are open to the general public, and books are available for purchase at the museum store. Questions? Contact Aggie Idemoto at (408) 294-3138 or aggie@jamsj.org.
