Tonight's Open Table line-up at Covenant
 
On the menu tonight is potato bar with chili, chicken and all the trimmings, brownies & ice cream. Dinner is 5 to 6:30 p.m. for $7 (adults) and $5 (kids) with a $25 max. Programs at 6:30 include:
  • Telling the Story of Your Life - The Power of Personal Narrative: Bring four or five pictures that have meaning for you. Maureen Ryan Griffin, our writer-in-residence for this series, will show us how pictures can stimulate memory, courage and peace. Newcomers welcome. Details here.
  • Purposeful Parenting - How to Raise Resilient Children: Mary B. Moore, a therapist at Southeast Psych, will give a talk for parents of children ages 4 to 16. Part Two is next Wednesday on Strengthening Children's Social & Emotional Skills. Details here.

New class for millennials launches Sunday
Sundays 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in FH105
A new class at Covenant will bring together young singles, couples and first-time parents to talk about navigating adulthood in a changing world. In your 20s or 30s? Join us for conversation. Details here.
Find your inner artist at worship arts retreat
Friday evening & Saturday, Feb. 24-25
All are invited to a retreat led by Lisle Gwynn Garrity, an artist who fosters creativity and connection to Scripture. Join us Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as we work on silk banners and a crown of thorns. Lunch is provided. We welcome youth.


Join the crew for Habitat build
Friday-Saturday, March 24-25
Help build a home for a deserving family here in Charlotte. Adults ages 16 and up are invited for one or both days. No experience necessary. We'll have a dinner in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, March 19 to celebrate our local team and a mission team headed to Reynosa, Mexico.

Two opportunities available
Building on our history as a teaching congregation, Covenant offers summer internships in mission and outreach and Christian Discipleship. Seminary students can develop their ministry skills and explore the work of the church in a supportive learning environment. Click below for descriptions.
Two services on Ash Wednesday
Wednesday, March 1 at noon and 7 p.m.
Covenant will offer two services on Ash Wednesday.

The 7 p.m. service will feature the Meredith Chorale from Meredith College (right), a vocal performing ensemble of 30-35 auditioned women, including Maggie James, a Covenant member. 

There is also an Ash Wednesday service at noon in the Chapel.
 
Children, youth choirs will offer special music on Mother's Day
Sunday, May 14 in 11 a.m. traditional & contemporary worship
What better gift for moms than to hear your child sing on Mother's Day? Join rehearsals now in preparation for a morning of joyful music. One week later, children and youth will offer an extended program at Sharon Towers. All are invited. Details here.

Leslie Ford joins front desk staff

Leslie Ford will join the Covenant staff on Monday as our morning receptionist. Leslie and her husband, James, have been members of Covenant since 2000. They have twin daughters, Veronica and Natalie, at Myers Park High. 

Please join us in welcoming Leslie and supporting her in this role. We also wish Debbie Tyson well in her retirement.
