Meet Covenant's new middle school director 
Perrin Tribble will join education staff
Covenant is pleased to announce that Perrin Tribble will join the staff as our new Director of Middle School Youth Ministries. Perrin is familiar to many at Covenant, having served as a summer intern in 2011, interim director of high school youth ministries in 2012 and as summer intern for Christian education and discipleship in 2013.
A graduate of Presbyterian College, Perrin currently serves as Director of Children, Youth and Christian Education at Second Presbyterian Church in Charleston and as middle school basketball and volleyball coach at Charleston Day School. Perrin says, "I am so thankful and excited for the opportunity to return to Covenant. I look forward to serving and growing alongside the middle school youth and their families."

Hundreds mobilized to serve our city
Covenant members and friends authored a collective love letter to our city Sunday in the form of Covenant Impacts Charlotte, a day of service to nonprofit partners and the people they serve.

Taco bar is on the menu
5 to 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall
Tonight's menu is taco bar, Spanish rice, refried beans and Tres Leches cake. Cost is $5 for children, $7 for adults (max of $25). Programs begin at 6:30 for all age groups. Child care is available. RSVP here.
- Children's costume parade: All are invited. Jenny Sutton and Amber Brown are hosting a Halloween celebration from 4 to 5 p.m. Bring your riding toys, tricycles, wagons and strollers for a parade around the Circle. A group picture will be taken at 5 p.m. Stick around for taco bar!

 Worship outdoors for 11 a.m. contemporary service
Enjoy the beautiful fall weather Sunday
Bring your seat cushions, wear your Panthers gear and worship under sunny skies in Covenant's amphitheater right outside the Fellowship Hall. Chairs will be available and the elevator is also an option. Jen Christianson will deliver the sermon.

Time change for Panthers game
The Panthers home game against the Arizona Cardinals has moved to a 1 p.m. kickoff time, meaning we can hold rehearsals at our normal time in the evening.
- Youth Handbell Choir rehearses on Sundays from 4 to 4:45 p.m. in EW320.
- Youth Chorale rehearses on Sundays from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. in EW315.

Sisters in Spirit will meet for monthly breakfast
Tuesday, Nov. 1, 7 to 8 a.m., Fellowship Hall
Covenant member Ariel Gritter will speak about how recent trips to Israel and Palestine contributed to her own faith journey.
Sisters in Spirit, open to all women of Covenant and friends, meets on the second Tuesday of each month (first Tuesday this month to accommodate election day) for fellowship and conversation. RSVP here.

First Sunday Talks - Lauren Winner
Sunday, Nov. 6 at 9:30 a.m. in FH207
Dr. Winner, an Episcopal priest, will speak on "Receiving God as the Bread of Life."
She is writing a book called Characteristic Damage, which examines the effects of sin and damage on Christian practice. On first Sundays, we pause regular adult Sunday School classes and invite the entire congregation to hear from wise voices.

Covenant Choir will sing Requiem
Sunday, Nov. 6 in 11 a.m. traditional worship
The Covenant Choir will sing Eleanor Daley's Requiem during 11 a.m. traditional worship on Sunday, Nov. 6 as part of All Saints Day.
This service will include a time for remembrance of those dear to us who have died in the past year. A Requiem will be sung throughout the service as a memorial to all the saints in glory. Details here.
