Join a team for Covenant Impacts Charlotte
Sunday afternoon on campus and beyond
After a unified worship service at 11 a.m., we'll do projects around town to benefit our nonprofit partners and the people they serve.
Online sign-ups close at 3 p.m. Friday. There will be a table outside worship on Sunday for same-day registration.
- Mulching, landscaping and spruce-up work at Highland, our CMS partner school
- Bake muffins for delivery to those served by Friendship Trays
- Join children for crafts, snacks and play time at The Learning Collaborative in Grier Heights
Reminders: No Sunday School. Child care is available. No Sunday evening youth fellowship.
Can't join us Sunday?: We are accepting donations of travel size toiletries (deodorants, shampoo, body wash), preschool age books, and pansies or other flowers. Bring to Evan Amo in main office.

From Joan Watson: Sharing an update on my health 
As some of you have heard, I am having surgery this Friday and will be out of the office for about a month recuperating. The surgery is, in part, necessary, but a large part of it is elective, and so it has much more to do with the future I want rather than with simply reacting to disease.

Charlotte After the Unrest: What Have We Learned?
Thursday at 11:45 a.m. in Fellowship Hall 
MeckMin, the community's interfaith network, will host a Food For Thought luncheon featuring Charlotte Observer editorial writers Taylor Batten, Eric Frazier and Peter St. Onge.
The topic is "Charlotte After The Unrest: What Have We Learned? What Do We Do Now?" The program will examine race, justice and Charlotte's lack of upward mobility. A $7 lunch is optional. RSVP here.

Volunteer to drive people to the polls 
Early voting begins this week
Join the non-partisan Mecklenburg Democracy NC Coalition as we work to get out the vote. Volunteers are needed to provide rides to the polls throughout all of early voting, Oct. 20 to Nov. 5.
