ART ROSS TO SPEAK ON SUNDAY      
Sunday, Aug. 9  

This Sunday for both the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sanctuary services we welcome speaker Art Ross. Art has served in the army as an infantry officer and served churches in Brooklyn, N.Y., Charlotte, N.C., Jacksonville, Fla., Morehead City, N.C. and St. Petersburg, Fla. For 15 years he was pastor of White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, N.C., where he now lives, retiring in 2009. He has served as trustee of Queens University, Columbia Theological, Davidson College and Union Presbyterian Seminary, where he chaired the Board for five years. He is currently a trustee of the Biblical Theological Seminary in Wroclaw, Poland and member of the Board of StepUp Ministry, which offers job training and life skills in Raleigh, Greensboro, and soon, Durham. Art is married to Jan Gaskell, formerly of Charlotte; they have two adult children and two grandchildren.

PRAYER WALK    
Friday, Aug. 7 

Join us Friday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., the doors of the Sanctuary will be open for a final prayer walk. We invite you to bring a friend or family member and make wonderful use of this time to pray, reflect, get centered and get moving, all while beating the summer heat. Daily thoughts and devotions are provided for inspiration. For questions, please contact James Huffman.
RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE 
Sunday, Aug. 16  

Your Health and Wellness Committee and the American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive on Sunday, Aug. 16 in the Recreation Wing Gymnasium from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. In May we exceeded our goal for donations, but more blood is still needed. Please schedule an appointment by contacting Nora Kuester or Mary Mattiacci. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Please give blood. Thank you.   
SUMMER BOOK CLUB
Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis

Part-Time Children's Ministry Assistant

Covenant is hiring a part-time assistant to support the children's ministry director in providing a sound, faithful and loving environment for chidren. The children's ministry assistant should be friendly, courteous and dependable with the ability to work well with staff and volunteers. The assistant will work 10 hours per week. Audio-Video Team Member  
The production team is in need of someone to help with audio-video needs during Sunday morning services, beginning at 8:30 a.m. If you or someone you know is interested in this position or would like more information, please contact Daniel Heath.


Part-time Preschool Teachers 
Covenant Preschool is hiring two part-time teachers or assistant teachers to work in the two-year-old classroom and the four-year-old classroom. An education degree or certificate and teaching experience are preferred. Please submit resume to Kathleen Grabert.

 

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Sunday Morning Teachers/Leaders Needed 

 

Did you know that Covenant offers 11 Sunday School classes for children at Covenant?  It takes eight teachers, 10 small group leaders, two song leaders, two large group presenters (drama), one AV tech, four greeters (hospitality) and a small army of babysitters to staff Sunday School each week!  Volunteers are needed. Curriculum, supplies, training and support are provided. If you are interested in supporting the children's ministry at Covenant, please contact Anne Lowrance for more information.

 

RUNNING AND WALKING GROUP LEADERS NEEDED 

Sunday Night Recreation Fellowship 
Beginning Aug. 30, 5 p.m.

We are looking for volunteers to lead both running and walking groups as part of the Sunday night recreation program this fall. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact James Huffman.

LUNCH CASHIERS AND FRONT-DESK FRIENDLY FACES NEEDED 
Weekdays  

We are in need of lunch cashiers on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We are also are in need of friendly faces to greet visitors to Covenant and answer the office phone when the need arises. To learn more about either or both of these opportunities, please contact Michelle Williamson.
