COMMITMENT SUNDAY
One Worship Service, 10:30 a.m.

 

Don't miss this great day for our congregation and city! Childcare will be provided during worship for infants- 5-year-olds, but children, youth and most Sunday school classes are not meeting at their usual 9:30 time. 

 

We'll celebrate and affirm our commitment to ministry by bringing offerings and pledges and following up with service across the city. Please consider a pledge to contribute to Covenant's ministry in 2015. You can make an electronic pledge or give here.
 

COVENANT IMPACTS CHARLOTTE

This Sunday

 

Covenant Impacts Charlotte brings together more than 500 friends of all ages to affirm our commitment to our community. Following our joint worship service at 10:30 a.m., we'll have teams doing a variety of work to support nonprofit ministry partners, with projects available at Covenant and at other sites. View a list of projects or register for a project team.
 
We've got several projects with openings at sites including Crisis Assistance Ministry, Highland Renaissance Academy, Men's Shelter of Charlotte, Rebound, The Learning Collaborative and on Covenant's campus. 
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes:
A Potpourri of Sports Medicine Injuries and Prevention
Wednesday, Nov. 12, 6:30 p.m.

 

Dr. Catherine Rainbow will discuss common sports injuries and how to keep them from happening. She is a sports medicine physician at Sports Medicine & Injury Care-Ballantyne. We will meet on the third floor of the Recreation Wing. Join us for some snacks and some good information. No reservation necessary, but contact Mary Mattiacci if you have any questions. Dinner will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 5:30-6:30.

Come to a panel discussion with pastors Bob Henderson, Jessica Patchett and Joan Watson to ask questions and hear stories of how commitment to our church shapes us as individuals and our community as we live into the promises of faith. Lay leaders will be available to answer any specific financial questions. Lunch will be provided.

Presenter Cathie Brooks, director of admissions at Charlotte Christian School, will discuss early reading and math skills for preschoolers. Childcare will be provided, but you must register in advance.

Moore Place Thanksgiving

Join us for a special Thanksgiving meal at Moore Place, an apartment complex for formerly homeless adults. You can prepare or serve food for this dinner. Contact Petra Wahnefried for details.
HANDBELL FESTIVAL CONCERT
Sardis Presbyterian Church
Saturday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m.

 

Covenant ringers will participate in the 19th Annual Mid-Carolinas Handbell Festival,with guest composter/conductor/clinician Anna Laura Page. A free concert will be held at 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All are invited to hear the hymns and carols rung by multiple handbell choirs from churches and schools around our area.
