Nearing Victory: An RAL Call For Action

In the Nebraska State Legislature LB 885 was introduced by Sen. Burke Harr which enforces the use of a "discounted cash flow" method for vacant developed lots. This bill was greeted with heavy support from many different organizations. It came out of committee and onto the floor for debate where it was amended, then added to LB 191 where it now stands in "Final Reading". It looks hopeful to be passed before the end of this legislative session. This could be a major victory for home ownership as the increase in property taxes on buildable lots will surely be passed onto the home buyer.

HOWEVER, we need to see this through to the end by contacting our local state senators TODAY and ask them to support LB885 which has been amended into LB191 for the final reading.
