Dear ,

Wayne

Summer has definitely arrived in the Willamette Valley! A nice, cool breeze would feel good right now.

Our next festival will be in Roseburg, OR, -- in the Umpqua Valley -- at the end of the month. We are hoping for a nice pleasant weekend to introduce you to my newest drawing. I have really enjoyed working on this little guy.

As you can see below, we did, at last, get the new Willamette Valley calendar finished and will have them with us in Roseburg. Our new printing partners are starting to work on the others. These are for 2016.

Congratulations to all the graduates out there and good luck on your next adventures! If you graduated from Oregon State, I can mount your diploma in a frame together with my Memorial Union drawing. Click here to see how that would look. Send me an email if you are interested.

If you live in the Corvallis area, be sure to notice the schedule below. We are adding a new one-day event, The Blend, there in August -- the weekend before the  hot air balloons lift off at the Art & Air Festival in Albany. Its going to be a busy summer. Come enjoy it with us!

The Lord is good to everyone.

He showers compassion on all his creation.

~  Psalm 145:9   NLT

So many furry critters out there... and so little time to draw them all! I have really enjoyed working on my fur techniques, but my favorite part of all is the eyes. I love capturing their personalities. I always draw the eyes first after I get the basic sketch done. It's like they are watching me draw the rest of the picture.

Kathy often sends me photos that she has received in emails and Facebook from friends and relatives. My files of ideas are bulging! One of Larry Rea's raccoon photos really spoke to me. I've had a raccoon on my list of possible subjects for some time and those eyes just grabbed me.

Larry gave the go-ahead and this is what happened. I named this little guy "Bandit" for obvious reasons. He helped me rearrange some of the foliage to get it out of his face and I captured him. Thanks Larry!

A New Calendar and a New Printer

We are so excited!! Many of you have asked for a Willamette Valley Calendar. We're happy to announce that we now have one. We had hoped to release the 2016 version at the Art Show at OSU in May but didn't quite make that deadline. We did have the first rough proof with us which was very well received. At this writing, we are hoping to have the first calendars with us at the UVAA Summer Arts Festival in Roseburg. They will be available at future shows and online on our website

We will also be making our Oregon Covered Bridges, our Pacific Northwest Lighthouses and our Flowers calendars available as well.

With the closing of Minute Man Press of Albany, (Thank you Mark & team for a job well done!) we were forced to find a new printing partner. We are pleased to welcome Impact Printing to the Acrewood Art team! It has taken a bit of time to get them on board, but the fine-tuning is almost completed and the presses are starting to roll.

Find Bo-Mack's BBQ Has Moved

Sad news; glad news!!! The sad news is that we no longer have an art outlet in downtown Albany. We have been really grateful for Bo-Mack's BBQ who so generously 'gave' us a wall to display Wayne's art. They are now closed at that location. Thanks much to those who purchased from that wall and, by so doing, helped support kids in need.

The glad news is that Bo-Mack's BBQ Express has opened on Hwy 34 on the west side of I-5 (exit 228). Their plan is to eventually have a small gift shop area and they would like to include Wayne's art in that. So if you are in the area, be sure to go by and see what's for dinner... or lunch.
