If you are looking for Drift Creek Bridge, you won't find it spanning Drift Creek; it isn't there anymore. In 1997 it was dismantled and moved to its present location just off Hwy 18 about 5 miles east of Hwy 101. Drift Creek Bridge is drawn in pen & ink and finished with a watercolor wash and colored pencil. It took a little over 15 hours to complete; click on the picture to see a larger image. This 10"x8" original drawing will sell for $610. If you'd like to see this drawing in person, please let me know!

We knew the call was coming, but that didn't make it any easier to receive. Another of our "Compassion Kids" has graduated from the program. Silvia from Bolivia has completed her 12th grade education. We sponsored her in 2009 at the age of 15. It is hard to believe she will be 19 in September! We are going to miss her letters.
On a happier note, we now have twins! We adopted 2 little grey & white tabby kittens at the end of January. We are really enjoying them, but they are in no way ready to take Pooh's place on the art desk. Fuji, the little girl on the left, is a little tornado who loves to shread paper. Her brother, Haiku is a little easier-going, but would love to catch the pen. They are so fun, but don't let the sleepy heads fool you. They are resting up for the next whirlwind. It is impossible to take an unblurred photo of them any other way. They are definitely not ready to sit quietly and watch the artist at work! |
