School Psychology Awareness Week
Nov. 9-13

Birdville ISD has eight Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSPs) who are part of the Special Education Department. LSSPs in Birdville ISD provide a variety of services to students, families, and school staff in order to ensure that students with short-term or long-term emotional and/or behavioral difficulties receive appropriate educational services and interventions. LSSPs help support special education programs on their campuses, consult with parents and school staff, complete evaluations for Autism and Emotional Disturbance, develop behavior intervention plans, conduct violence risk assessments, and provide staff development on a variety of topics. This year, LSSPs have offices directly on campus and are arranged by cluster to provide effective support. Do you know who your LSSP is?
