BISD's Strategic Plan update to staff

During the spring of 2014, more than 125 staff members worked on BISD's Action Planning Teams to develop plans on ways to implement the key areas of the District's new strategic plan. The four teams were Learning, Partnerships, Culture and Resources. In July 2014, the Board of Trustees approved the overall strategic plan, which included action plans.

Because of the November 2014 bond election, most of the work was postponed until the beginning of 2015. Here is a look at where we are now:

  • Dr. Elizabeth Clark and the Curriculum and Instruction Department have already integrated some of the action plans from the Learning section into the 2014-15 District Improvement Plan.
  • Mark Thomas and the Communications Department are working on the Partnership section. Data on several action plans is currently being gathered.
  • Joe Cammarata and the Staff and Student Services Department are working on the Culture section.
  • Mike Seale along with Randy Sumrall and the Finance and Technology departments are working on the Resources section.

The Superintendent's Cabinet will continue to oversee these sections and work with staff to develop an implementation plan. In addition, the Communications Department will be launching a Strategic Plan website on which the progress of the work can be monitored.
